We offer a US curriculum based on New York State Education Department, NYSED. Upon completion of high school, graduates will receive a US high school diploma that meets the UAE’s specification or US curriculum schools. The curriculum will be focused on challenging and inspiring students of all ages and abilities. Students will develop a passion for learning and a respect and understanding of others. Students will also acquire through the curriculum the personal values of responsibility, tolerance, loyalty, independence, and honesty.

The main differences between the IB, British, and American Curriculum is the program of study, scope and sequence of topics and skills, and the awarded qualification/diploma awarded at the end of schooling. The American curriculum is structured around a U.S. State’s Standards and in the case of Dubai Schools the program offering is based on New York State Education Department (NYSED) Standards. Beginning in 9th grade students begin working towards a diploma pathway that is designed by the school in line with the standards leading to a 4-year diploma. Additionally, Dubai Schools Diploma pathways will be aligned to the U.A.E. Ministry of Education Diploma Equivalency expectations; Schools will offer a General, Advanced, and Elite Diploma pathway. The American Curriculum offers more flexibility and pathways to a diploma. British Schools are guided by the National Curriculum for England and associated GCSE and A Level examination qualification. The I.B. programme is guided by the P.Y.P, M.Y.P., and Baccalaureate Standard and Higher Examinations which are set by the I.B. Governing Body.

Yes, learning Arabic as a first language is a compulsory course for Arab Nationals to Grade 12. One of the Aims of Dubai Schools is to offer a bilingual education focused upon Arabic literacy. Learning and loving Arabic as a language will play a significant role in our students’ lives. We believe that the development of the Arabic Language is crucial for both cognitive development and maintaining cultural identity while achieving the UAE vision. Arabic as a foreign language is also taught to non-Arab students.

We pride ourselves on inclusion and welcome all students. We provide high-quality education for all children, including gifted children and those requiring more learning support.

Personalized learning programs are developed for students with specific needs on a case-by-case basis, and these programs include access to appropriate resources and support and curricular options. Please contact our Admissions Team for more information.

As an inclusive school, we treat all applications equally, admitting students with a range of needs.

Admission applications from students with a disability or special educational needs (students of determination) should include as much supporting information/ documents as possible.

Please work with our Admissions Team closely so that we can keep the KHDA informed. Please also note when the school is unable to register students with KHDA due to incomplete documentation, you may be asked to wait to take up your school place until the process is complete, which will result in your child not being able to join their class.

Foods containing pork, nuts, and fizzy drinks are not allowed.

At Dubai Schools Al Khawaneej, we value your child’s personal growth and development and offer a variety of extra-curricular activities to suit their needs and passions.

We appreciate all applications to Dubai Schools but unfortunately due to limited spaces our applications are on a first come first serve basis. Please rest assured that if we are not able to offer your child a place at this stage, we will keep their application on file should something become available at a later date.

Every scholarship application is reviewed by the Government of Dubai and assessed based on the documents that you have submitted. The scholarship awarded is therefore determined on a number of factors including the family book and salary information.

Please note that the assessment will not determine if your child is accepted into Dubai Schools, this is simply a way for us to better understand their individual learning profile and to ensure that they are successfully supported in the classroom.

The KHDA stipulates that a re-registration fee of AED 500 must be applied for all students that are re-registering. This fee will then be deducted from Term 1 tuition fees.

For all new students, a deposit of AED 500 is required to secure your child’s place. This fee will then be deducted from Term 1 tuition fees.

The re-registration deposit will not be refunded unless there are extenuating circumstances. These circumstances include, but are not limited to, evidence of family/student relocation to another country/emirate or any other unforeseen circumstances.
